Project Overview
Crosswire.online is a news analysis platform that provides an ultra-minimalist experience for comparing top digital media headlines across countries. It aggregates headlines from major news outlets and presents them side-by-side, helping users observe how different publications frame the same stories.
Our Work
- Data Aggregation — real-time headline scraping from 13+ major Spanish outlets (El País, El Mundo, ABC, La Vanguardia, elDiario.es, and more)
- Frontend — ultra-minimalist PWA with relaxed and compact viewing modes
- Multi-country Support — architecture designed for cross-country headline comparison
- Infrastructure — fully serverless on AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudFront, S3)
Technologies Used
- AWS Lambda (Python) for headline aggregation
- DynamoDB for headline storage and indexing
- CloudFront + S3 for static hosting
- Progressive Web App (responsive, add-to-home-screen)
Results
Crosswire.online serves as a media literacy tool, enabling users to see editorial framing differences across outlets and regions at a glance. The serverless architecture keeps costs near zero while supporting any traffic level.
